Craniosacral work is gentle, soothing, noninvasive, hands-on therapy that can be done as early as within the first few days of a child’s birth. Craniosacral work is wonderful for infants because they are so open and receptive at birth. Craniosacral work can help with
A craniosacral practitioner primarily works with the bones of the head, pelvis and spine, the connective tissue and fluid surrounding the brain and spinal cord, and the nervous system. During an initial visit, I do an overall evaluation to make sure that the baby’s structure is in alignment. A typical session would start at the feet then continue working with the pelvis, spine, and cranium. I feel to make sure the structure is aligned so the baby’s digestive, nervous, endocrine, muscular and cranial systems are working at their highest potential. A baby's structure may become misalgined either in the womb or during the birth process, whether vaginal or c-section. If any torsion, rotation or other misalignment is not resolved, these imbalances may potentially influence a child’s behavior and development. Follow up visits ensure that changes within the structure are sustained. These sessions are more specific than the initial overall evaluation and work to meet the needs of your baby as he or she rapidly grows and changes. |
