Shayna Reid is a Certified Practitioner of Craniosacral Work and Certified Yoga Instructor.

She started yoga at UCLA, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2003, with a BA in Anthropology and a minor in Education. After graduating, Shayna began practicing at the Forrest Yoga Institute, completing her yoga teacher training in 2004.

Subsequently, she participated in a two-year apprenticeship at the Forrest Yoga Institute that included Levels 1 & 2, Pre and Postnatal and Introduction to Yoga. She was taught to work with specific injuries and students of various levels. Working with pre and postnatal mothers was especially rewarding and prompted her to specialize in teaching Pre and Postnatal Yoga. Shayna teaches her students to use breath and poses to release tension and find a steady center.

Shayna continues to study various types of yoga and movement, including Forrest, Ashtanga, Iyengar, Yin Yoga, Aston Kinetics and Vinyasa flow. She draws upon her knowledge of a variety of practices in her class. Shayna believes that the body is the most condensed form of spirit, and working with the body (especially with the breath) is a form of spiritual practice.

Shayna started studying at the Shiatsu Massage School of California in 2004. Here she was introduced to Craniosacral work, and immediately knew this healing modality would become an integral part of her life and work. She began her training with the Milne Institute, home to visionary Craniosacral Work, in 2005, and completed her certification in 2007.  She has continued to study various healing modalities at the Institute of Psycho-Structural Balancing, the Upledger Institute, Aston Kinetics and the International Association of Infant Massage.

Pediatric craniosacral work is deeply important to Shayna. She believes every baby deserves an evaluation after birth to help them grow up in their bodies as harmoniously as possible.
